I started gaming with this wonderful group of people through an invitation from Bl00k. I came to my first LAN and sat up and watched everyone play OpFP until 10 a.m. During that time I learned a lot about everyone, like watching a poker game, I had a unique experience of watching without playing. I learned that first night that Bobby liked to team up, that he was a leader. I wanted acceptance from everyone. I could instantly see what a wonderful, rare group of friends this was and I wanted to be a part of it. I continued to attend LAN parties and hang out at Computech. After a couple LANs with a room full of guys and knowing only a few people in the room, Epic came in and set up his computer. He looked over and saw me playing WC3 and said "Hey Liz, cool I'm impressed to see you playing. Wow your screen is so dark. Turn up your Gamma." lol From that point, I was in. I was one of you. I can't count the wonderful memories I have of us all together in Cedar . They are some of the most wonderful times of my life. LANs in the Dungeon and at Computech. Spending time with Bobby when he was living at the Toliet having such a hard time with a breakup from a woman he loved. We had some amazing conversations and some amazing silences, just watching the night from the porch. When I needed help getting over a breakup, he was there for me and so strong.
Bobby is the one that convinced me to play SWG. Like so many times he wanted to try to get everyone together in game. In a place he loved with people he loved. My first day in SWG Ata/Bobby and Suri met me at the Starport. Bobby had a backpack for me named "Metiet's Bag O'Joy" with armor and food. The essentials. =) I have carried that backpack in Met's inventory always, even until this day. They took me out Rancor hunting and I was hooked. Sinone met Bobby in Galaxies. They were sworn into the guild, SHC, on the same day. Sinone took Bobby pvp'ing for the first time and then got to watch him bloom and excel in pvp. My husband always looked up to Bobby. Whenever they were in a game together, he looked towards Bobby as a leader, as someone he loved to compete with and learn from. After a time playing, Bobby introduced me to Sinone. If it hadn't been for Bobby's way of touching everyone he met, I would not have the family I have now. Such a simple thing as a two minute introduction in a virtual environment. A game. It has forever changed our lives and that of a wonderful little boy.
While I lived with Bobby, I was amazed as I started to learn just how far Bobby's reach to people extended. He was always in contact with someone. People all over the world. On messenger, on IRC, in games, in forums, on the phone, with text messages, through email, even through regular old snail mail a package from an old friend would show up out of the blue. So many people. Sometimes he would tell me a little about these people and how he met them or experiences and memories he shared with him. I am starting to see a lot of them post on hack3r and I even though I don't know a lot of them in person, I know he loved everyone of them.
My husband and I are so sad to see his life end so soon but so glad we are blessed to have known him. He will continue to be one of our driving forces, our inspiration. Like so many other's out in the world, we love Bobby so much. He is our leader. He is our friend.
Thank you Bobby!
Love Always — s3khm3t/Metiet/Liz & Marcus/Sinone/Naomisin
